The Social Web Foundation and Hackerspace Brussels (HSBXL) are co-hosting an off-site event at FOSDEM 2025 in Brussels, Belgium on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 19:00 to 21:00 local time. Social Web After Hours will feature four Fediverse-focused presentations from leaders of the ActivityPub community:
- Darius Kazemi will discuss the Fediverse Observatory
- Julian Lam will discuss NodeBB and using ActivityPub for threaded discussions
- Matthias Pfefferle will present the ActivityPub plugin for WordPress
- Johannes Ernst will talk about Feditest.
- Evan Prodromou will do a virtual booksigning for his book “ActivityPub: Programming for the Social Web“.
The event is open to the public, but space is limited. HSBXL is at Rue Osseghem 53, 1080 Molenbeek, Brussels, Belgium. Light food and drink available for purchase at the event; proceeds benefit HSBXL.

@evanprodromou @evan can you use a Tag Luke #swf ?
@naturzukunft @evanprodromou Why?
@evan @evanprodromou So that people can follow the tag and not miss anything.
@naturzukunft I mean, first, the article is not about Social Web Foundation, but about the event at FOSDEM. Second, if you want to know about posts *from* the Social Web Foundation, you can identify that by the actor or the domain.
@evan good advice
@julian Yes, Christine and Jessica are going to do a lightning talk at the devroom on Saturday. I am confirming a replacement speaker.
